Peggy Gelbrich Workshops
We are pleased to have noted quilt professional, Peggy Gelbrich, from Yamhill, Oregon teaching two quilt workshops at our quilt show this year. Peggy has had quilts published in Quilters Newsletter and Fons and Porter’s Love of Quilting Magazines. She has been nominated as Teacher of the Year for Professional Quilter magazine. Visit her website at http://yellowhousequilter.com.
Peggy enjoys the challenge of figuring out how to make a complicated looking pattern easier to put together. And that is just what she has done in her designs for the two quilts selected for our workshops.
"Rocky Road to Kansas"
Friday, April 22nd, 11:00 A.M to 4:00 P.M
Class Fee: $60.00
Skill Level: Confident Beginner
Description: The Rocky Road to Kansas pattern dates back to the late 1800’s. It was most likely named for the arduous journey the settlers made during their trip west. Make your quilt in fabrics representative of the time or celebrate the present with something new. The new quilting methods of freezer paper, paper piecing make this quilt an easy project.
Saturday, April 23rd, 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P. M.
Class Fee: $60.00
Skill Level: Intermediate
Description: This is a fun quilt to make and it's not as difficult as it looks. You will learn foundation piecing using freezer paper. With this technique there is no paper to tear way from the back. You will also learn curved piecing.
